What Are They?

A dental implant is a permanent fixture that can be used to replace both the tooth and the tooth root. These implants consist of a titanium post that’s surgically placed into the existing bone and a porcelain implant crown that’s secured to the post. The metal post bonds with the healthy bone of the jaw or the skull and provides permanent support for a dental prosthesis such as dentures and dental crowns. Once it’s finished healing, a dental implant is capable of mimicking how your natural teeth look, feel, and function with the rest of your body.

A Solution to Dentures

All-on-4® or implant-retained dentures are tooth implants that use as few as four implants and can mimic the appearance of an extended bridge. These permanent fixtures can support a full-arch prosthesis and go all the way across your mouth. This full set of implants has been designed to replace all of your upper or lower teeth. As both a permanent and more natural-looking alternative to dentures, each implant features a small titanium screw that’s surgically inserted into the gums and uses your jawbone as an anchor. Each screw is then covered with a false tooth to complete the look.
