Though veneers can be made from several different kinds of material, veneers made out of porcelain are better at mimicking the light-reflecting properties of your natural teeth to make them look more uniform. They also act as a protective layer to keep your teeth safe from damage and can change the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth.

These veneers also require that the structure of the tooth is reshaped in order to allow for an even fit. Minimal prep veneers are more common than no-prep veneers, often have a longer-lasting color, and provide a more permanent solution to tooth discoloration.
